new digs!!

new shop!for the last couple months rachel and i have been finalizing the details for our new house in north portland and we are in the final stretch to making it all happen. we should be into our new house in the next month and i should be able to move the shop into the garage in the next couple months after i get it all prepped with insulation and some new wiring.

very exciting to have a shop that is ours and not to have to pay rent every month.

aside from this big process and staying onto of bikes in the shop, i carved out a week to ride with the rapha continental on it’s last tour of the year. in a week on the road, we spent 40 hours in the van driving from salt lake city to yellowstone to boise and then to portland. we also rode 460 miles with all the rides starting somewhere above 3000 feet above sea level. the views were amazing and the folks we met along the way were some of the kindest folks you could hope for on the road. the rides are all documented on the conti site. enjoy. montana kissy face

getting back to the shop was very welcome and i was able to get back work to get steve’s rando bike mostly built up and get started on jeff’s lite road/rando bike, slate’s winter trainer and also dan’s portuer bike.looking forward to picking up paul’s cx all rounder bike at paint this week. we matched his wife’s restored late 70’s ford pick up with light blue and creamy yellow. very sexy!

mixte commuter in the coming month’s i will be updating my website with current build times and updated prices as the cost of materials has gone up in the last year. i got a email from the paint shop the other day to say they are raising their prices by 20%. i was just getting used to the idea of a $450 powdercoat paint job being a bargain! ouch.

the juggling act continues.
