so it’s 5:30 am and i was all set to head out for a couple hours of riding before i set foot onto the ice outside the back door. just to be sure i set out anyway but found my traction ineffective. i admit defeat to the weather that i used to prize for making tough cyclists in the Midwest. i am sure that g. pickle and Ari are both laughing at me right now. or they are asleep which is where i should be. i am up to my eyeballs in pre show preparation but somehow calmer than last year. could it be that not having to travel with a van full of trade show booth makes it easier? duh.
i have been able to get a couple bikes cranked out this last week which feels really good. the winter is all about maximized productivity. hopefully i will pick up one of the show bikes at the painters today. very exciting.
with the trans Iowa coming up in a couple months, i feel the itch to ride more but will not be racing in the 4th version this year. looking forward to doing some more bike touring this year and maybe a little more racing. would love to go to Europe to watch some racing and ride but the euro is killing the us dollar right now. traveling doesn’t look so good overseas but on the up side, wouldn’t it be great if the US actually started to produce things again. all the small businesses that are in this country start to become more appealing as the cost of shipping goods skyrockets.

long live the small business!

    Keep up the good work.
