lil’ bronco

stem and pump match

new paint, shiny parts and stem and frame pump painted to match. to top it all off it rides perfect. sporty but not too racey. comfortable and predictable. what’s not to love about getting a new bike built just for you. this was the first campy bike i have built and it really changed my view of the italian components. the new crankset design really blew me away. simple yet very effective design with a much lower q factor than their japanese competitors with a elegant spindle design. and when it’s all said and done, you can look all the way through the bottom bracket. cool.
damn bikes are sexy! and fun. rode with matt hall, e play and tommy this morning. cold and dark at the fresh pot at 7:30 but by the time we left at 8:30 it had warmed up and we rolled out marine drive and back for 2 hour saddle time with no one’s heart rate getting over 150bpm. very chatty and mellow. matt got to show off his latest custom mods on his cross bike including a shaved down carbon fibre bash gaurd with holes drilled for that classic lightning up look. also custom brake springs to decrease the tension on the frogleg cantilevers. these changes allowed matt to wheely longer with more control on his ira ryan cross bike. unfortunatly, i couldn’t get the camera to capture the death defying tricks of the lil’ bronco as he bunny hopped anything that looked like a barrier. erin kept a bike length between wheels as matt was likely to buck off the road at any moment. such style.

The bike is so sweet! The ride is so very silent and smooth and fast. Climbing and carving. Not a better ride have I experienced. Bounding over boundaries….thank you, Ira.
